10 Ways to Update Your Space for Spring

Spring is officially here, and while everyone is spending a lot of time indoors and social distancing this year, that doesn’t mean you have to forgo refreshing your space for the new season. With all the extra time on your hands, now is the perfect time to make the updates you’ve been dreaming of. Here are a few ways you can freshen up your space this season whether you just need a little something new or you want a whole new look for your home.

1. Bring in some plants

Adding plants to your home is one of the best ways to freshen up the space. Having pops of green in the living room, kitchen, or even bathrooms can brighten everything up and make your space more inviting.

2. Update your furniture

If you don’t love your furniture, now is a great time to switch things up. Whether you want new barstools, a couch, coffee table, or entertainment center, swapping out some pieces you don’t love for ones you do makes a world of difference.

3. Replace a light fixture or two

Light fixtures can be amazing – they have the potential to create a whole new feel in a space and add a beautiful accent to any room. If you’re wanting to switch things up anywhere in your home, consider updating your light fixtures.

4. Make and/or update your outdoor space

Summer is quickly approaching, and assuming the world will still be social distancing by then, you’ll want an outdoor space where you can go to get out of the house, have fun, and relax with your family.

5. Wallpaper or paint an accent wall

Adding wallpaper or a new paint color to a room is a fun way to update any space. Projects like this can take time, but the end result is almost always worth it. And if you end up not loving it, you can just take the wallpaper down or paint it again.

6. Replace your rugs

Refreshing your living space is simple when you replace your rugs. Doing this can give your room a whole new feel without a ton of work – making it the perfect option if you just want a small update that makes a big difference.

7. Organize your kitchen

Organization can often make a space feel brand new, and your kitchen is the perfect place to start. Taking the time to organize your drawers, cupboards, and pantry will make your life so much easier and make your space feel fresh.

8. Finish any unfinished projects

Starting projects is easy, but finishing them can be difficult – especially when you don’t have a lot of time. If you have unfinished projects around the house, now is the perfect time to get them done.

9. Work on the garage

Even though you might not spend a ton of time in the garage, keeping it clean and organized is important. Consider building cabinets and/or shelves to help keep it tidy year-round.

10. Update your bedroom

You should love being in your bedroom, so if you don’t, that could be a sign that it’s time for some updates. Switching out bedding, light fixtures, decor, or even your head board can make a huge difference.

Updating your space doesn’t have to be hard, expensive, or time consuming, but putting in the effort to do it can make a hugely positive impact on your everyday life.
